WCA supports students at;
1) Christopher Whitehead Language College1) WCA has contact with Christopher Whitehead Language College, where students are learning Mandarin. For the last two years, our Association has hosted a dinner for Students, Staff & parents to assist and encourage students in learning Mandarin. This includes printing a special menu in Mandarin & encouraging the students to order their food & drinks in Mandarin & talk to Mandarin speaking guests. This year, the dinner was held on 11th April and the evening included a quiz on China and three talks on experiences with China from two Chinese Nationals, Don Lee & Frankie Tsang and HJ Colston, Joint CEO of the Chopsticks Club, a Mandarin speaker who first visited in 1985 & has worked there since. The Headteacher of the College was also present, along with Abbie Lu, Mandarin Language Assistant.

2)International Students at University of Worcester2) Each Year the University of Worcester welcomes International students, including a large number from China. The team responsible for overseas students at the university is called Worcester International:
Catherine Hyde – Head of International Experience Elizabeth O' Mara - Regional Manager Deborah Graddon – International Student Advisor Sara Marsalo - International Graduate Ambassador Claudia M Gutierrez - International Graduate Ambassador The International Experience team ensures that incoming international students are well supported by the university’s institutes and services. It offers bespoke inductions for groups of incoming international students and a year long cultural and social programme to assist international students integrate into British culture. It supports the Worcestershire Chinese Association in its efforts to promote Chinese culture within Worcestershire and encourages university students (UK and international) to join the society in order to contribute to its aims. |
